AARP tax assistance program: Volunteers are needed to file electronically 2010 federal and state income tax forms. A five-day training using IRS computers and software will be provided. Volunteers become IRS-certified tax counselors after completing the training and passing an IRS examination. www.aarp.org/taxaide.

Balls Bluff Battlefield: Guides are needed to lead visitors throughout the historic site. The Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority will train volunteers.
