General Electric, Aflac, Lubrizol are among big market movers Monday

NEW YORK - Stocks that moved substantially or traded heavily Monday on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stock Market:


Lubrizol Corp., up $29.24 at $134.68

Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Inc. plans to spend about $9 billion to buy specialty chemical maker Lubrizol Corp.

General Electric Co., down 44 cents at $19.92

The U.S. conglomerate's nuclear power unit helped design the plant that posed a nuclear meltdown threat after Japan's massive earthquake.

Aflac Inc., down $1.65 at $53.90

The U.S. company, a major insurance seller in Japan, said it expects a minimal sales impact from the earthquake and tsunami, but shares still fell.

Tiffany & Co., down $3.33 at $59.86

Shares of the upscale jewelry seller slid on worries about its large business in Japan, where investors fear a slowdown.

Las Vegas Sands Corp., down $1.44 at $38.62

A Jefferies analyst downgraded the casino company's investment rating, saying an SEC probe of its Macau operations would weigh on shares.
