Carol Anne Patt, cataloguer

Carol Anne Patt, 50, a cataloguer with the Library of Congress and Drug Enforcement Administration, died Feb. 17 at her home in Silver Spring. She had a heart attack.

Ms. Patt was born in Clarkson, N.Y., and was a 1982 graduate of the State University of New York at Brockport. She received a master's degree in economics from the State University of New York at Binghamton.

After moving to the Washington area, she received a master's degree in library science from the University of Maryland in 1989.

She began her career as a lexicographer with the Education Resources Information Center and later worked as a cataloguer with the Library of Congress and DEA.

Ms. Patt was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Silver Spring, where she volunteered and served on the parish council, and was a member of the Catholic Alumni Club of Washington. She was a volunteer after-school reader at Rock Creek Forest Elementary School in Silver Spring and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and Shepherd's Table, a group that provides food and services to the needy.

Survivors include her mother, Mercedes Patt of Hamlin, N.Y.; two sisters; and a brother.
