Animal in box wasn't suffering at all

ALEXANDRIA, 5100 block of Woodmire Lane, March 6. A neighbor contacted animal control to report that an animal might be in distress in a box that was delivered to the front porch of a residence. An animal control officer found a wooden box with large holes. Words on the exterior of the box indicated that the box was from FONZ, the Friends of the National Zoo organization. The officer advised the neighbor that it appeared to be a delivery of a stuffed animal related to a donation to the National Zoo. The neighbor, who was still concerned that there might be a live, suffering animal inside, opened the box and found a stuffed animal.
