HARRISONBURG, Va. -- A Virginia man has pleaded guilty to a deadly shooting at a Blue Ridge Parkway overlook that sent a man tumbling about 150 feet from the scenic spot.
Ralph Leon Jackson pleaded guilty to murder, attempted murder and two firearms charges Wednesday in federal court in Harrisonburg. The plea agreement calls for a life prison term. Jackson is expected to be sentenced in June.
The 57-year-old Jackson, of Stuarts Draft, was charged in the April 2010 death of Timothy Phillip Davis of Charlottesville and the wounding of 18-year-old Christina Shay Floyd of Palmyra.
Davis and Floyd were shot from behind as they sat on a wall at the parkway's Rock Point Overlook. The 27-year-old Davis tumbled off the overlook and later died.
