ATHENS, Ga. -- Investigators have surrounded an Athens, Ga., house as they search for a man suspected of shooting one officer dead and wounding another.

Athens Police Capt. Clarence Holeman said late Thursday morning that officers had been at the house for more than an hour. He says no arrests have been made.

Police in the north Georgia college town have been searching for 33-year-old Jamie Hood since Tuesday's shooting.

Police say Hood wounded an officer who stopped the car he was riding in, then shot and killed a second officer he encountered as he fled on foot.
