Fletcher President Obama is scheduled to headline a Miami Beach dinner Monday night to raise money for Democratic congressional candidates, continuing a run of intense political activity leading up elections this year and next. Tickets for Monday night's event range from $500 to $15,200 a ticket. The president will follow tonight's dinner at the Fontainbleau Hotel with a visit to Norfolk, Va., Tuesday, where he will campaign for Creigh Deeds, who is waging an uphill battle in his campaign for governor. Last week, the president was in Manhattan to to raise money for the Democratic National Committee and Bill Owens, a congressional candidate. He also campaigned for the 2010 reelection of Sen. Christopher J. Dodd (D-Conn.), attempting to help Dodd "rebrand himself" after a controversy involving his efforts to protect the insurance giant AIG from new federal restrictions on bonuses.
