The Fix family plane landed late last night back in Washington but we couldn't let down our loyal readers. So, below you'll find an abbreviated version of the Morning Fix. Also, we are back! 1. Less than forty eight hours after delivering his speech setting the future course for American involvement in Afghanistan, President Obama hosts a jobs summit at the White House today. Make no mistake: this event is aimed at reassuring the American public that while Obama has an eye on Afghanistan, he understands the struggles on the job front. (In his address on Tuesday night, Obama expressed that sentiment bluntly: "The nation that I'm most interested in building is our own." Poll after poll shows that jobs and, more broadly, the economy, are the overriding issue for most voters as 2010 approaches. Democratic strategists are sure to breathe a sigh of relief at the gathering of bigwigs
