With 12 days left before Pennsylvania voters head to the ballot box, Rep. Joe Sestak (D) has launched what he hopes will be a political death blow to Sen. Arlen Specter (D)-- an ad that details the party-switching incumbent's Republican past and casts his party switch in purely opportunistic terms. The ad, which was produced by the Campaign Group and began running last night, features footage of then President George W. Bush praising Specter as "the right man for the United States Senate" and adding: "I can count on this man." While the Bush footage is damaging -- reminding Democratic voters of their wariness about casting a vote for someone with such a long history in the Republican party -- it's Specter's own words that may be the toughest part of the ad. "My change in party will enable me to be re-elected," Specter is shown saying twice in Joe Sestak - Arlen Specter - Pennsylvania - United States Senate - Democratic
