The U.S. death toll in the Iraq war, which began with the U.S.-led invasion March 19, 2003, reached 2,000. Here is a look at the fallen troops' home towns, ages, service categories and other particulars, as announced by the Defense Department.
Note: The Pentagon has not released details for all casualties. Each graphic is based on different total numbers of fatalities depending on category analyzed.
