Turkish Bombings

For several months, Turkish forces have been shelling the rugged landscape of northern Iraq in an effort to root out Kurdish rebel outposts, which have been the staging ground for cross-border strikes into Turkey. With the U.S. pressuring the Iraqi government to clamp down on the strikes, the growing confrontation threatens to open a new northern front in the Iraq war.
