Dozens killed in Turkey earthquake

A 6.0-magnitude earthquake hit eastern Turkey in the early morning Monday, killing more than 50 people and crumpling buildings.

Turkish rescue teams and villagers search for people among the ruins in Elazig province. In addition to at least 51 killed, about 30 people were being treated for injuries, according to Turkey's crisis center.

Residents huddle together in the Okcular village, the worst-hit area. At least 15 of the village's 900 residents were killed, the Elazig governor's office said, according to an Associated Press story. Aftershocks measuring up to 5.5 and 5.3 magnitude continued for hours.
