Benefactors build D.C.'s cultural presence

In the last three decades, the cultural scene in Washington has exploded with the growth of musical groups, theater companies and dance ensembles which has yielded multiple spaces for the arts. The financing for those projects has come from the leadership of two families, Jaylee Mead and the late Gilbert Mead and Robert Kogod and Arlene Kogod.
