Google's 'Earth Engine'
Google launched a global satellite imagery information program, "Earth Engine," this week, joining the ranks of programs such as Google Earth and Google Maps. The launch coincides with the climate talks happening in Cancun, Mexico, and is supposed to help tropical nations more easily understand the state of their ecosystem and quantitatively monitor changes in forest coverage and other key indicators.
