Dead bird mystery: Carcasses from Arkansas town sent for testing

Officials are still trying to determine exactly what caused nearly nearly 3,000 red-winged blackbirds to tumble from the Arkansas sky on New Year's Eve.

One of nearly 3,00 red-winged blackbirds that mysteriously dropped from the sky on New Year's Eve lies on the ground in Beebe, Ark. Possible theories involve lightning, hail and fireworks, but laboratories in Arkansas, Georgia and Wisconsin hope to find a more definitive answer after a week of testing.
