The Remaking of Tysons Corner

Project managers for the extension of Metrorail to Tysons Corner and Dulles International Airport are looking for ways to cut the $2.4 billion cost by 20 percent. The largest cost-cutting measure would require the elimination of a mile-long tunnel. To avoid tunneling, engineers would need to build aerial tracks for the train, some that would reach as high as 80 feet.
