Farm losses from Hurricane Katrina will reach $900 million this year, the Agriculture Department said. Cotton production in Alabama and Mississippi is down 4 percent, and Louisiana lost some 9 percent of its sugar cane production. Millions of chickens were killed, and $3 million worth of milk had to be discarded.
