More Room to Stand

Metro plans to experiment with three layouts of rail cars to increase standing room and accessibilty. Current cars, depending on the model, have 66 to 80 seats. The test cars have fewer seats and are equipped with handrails overhead and on walls and seat backs instead of floor-to-ceiling poles.
