North Korea's Big Test

North Korea's claim to have detonated a nuclear device Monday could make the isolated and secretive nation the world's newest nuclear power. North Korea has hidden its program from the world for years despite international efforts to reach a deal under which it would receive aid in exchange for a pledge to give up its nuclear ambitions. Many experts fear North Korea's step, if confirmed, could lead to a new arms race.
