Flood Protection

The Army Corps of Engineers has rebuilt the broken flood walls and reinforced other walls along the Industrial Canal, which took the biggest hit from Hurricane Katrina. Experts predict that a Katrina-type storm surge would overtop these levees -- most of which are 11 to 15 feet tall.
