Water Resources Called Into Question

After a fire destroyed an Adams Morgan condominium building Monday morning, concerns were raised about the District's water mains, some of which date to the late 1800s. Firefighters ran hose more than 3,000 feet to find a sufficient water supply to extinguish the blaze. However, WASA said yesterday that adequate hydrants were 600 feet away.
