How WiMax Works

Sprint Nextel plans to roll out a $5 billion national WiMax network that could provide wireless broadband Internet connections to homes, businesses and portable devices like laptops and PDAs. WiMax signals are distributed on licensed radio frequency spectrum and are designed to reach larger areas than WiFi technology. Here's how it works:
