Disrupted Arrivals, Departures

While the number of U.S. flights has held relatively steady in recent years, air traffic at John F. Kennedy International Airport has surged, causing on-time arrival rates to drop and delays to lengthen. The delays escalate throughout the day, resulting in on-time arrival rates at JFK of less than 40 percent between 6 and 7 p.m. and contributing to air traffic delays across the country.
