Washington Area Homicides
As of last night, the number of homicides reported in the Washington area in 2007 was 418, exactly the same as the region's homicide toll for 2006. The District and Prince George's County showed increases. Fairfax and Prince William counties were among jurisdictions showing drops. The count below combines preliminary statistics from municipal, state and county police departments within the boundaries of a county.
