Drafting a D.C. Original

What began as a conceptual sketch of circles and triangles has now taken shape as the new home of the Washington Nationals in Southeast Washington. The drawings show how the design by architects Marshall Purnell and Joseph Spear evolved. They blended the circular bowl of the ballpark with the need for a flat wall along South Capitol Street, creating a new gateway into the District.
