Compared with the many years and many billions of dollars it takes to build a rail line, bus service improvements can come quickly and cheaply. Metrobus is working on four significant upgrades. Each will enhance service for commuters and neighborhoods. Several are timely solutions to special needs, and they illustrate the role bus service can play, not only in moving people but also in enhancing community development. Local governments will subsidize the enhanced services.
