Safety Concern?

American Airlines canceled flights yesterday to reinspect wiring in the wheel wells of their MD-80 fleet. Federal Aviation Administration inspectors raised concerns about how the wire bundles are installed. The FAA requires that corrective action be made to prevent wires from chafing or arcing, which could cause the plane to lose auxiliary hydraulic power or cause a fire.
