HINDSIGHT: The Ascendant Sun

Solar is hot. High oil prices are helping fuel interest in solar energy companies, whose share prices have climbed 177 percent since the beginning of 2007. First Solar^ is up 850 percent since Jan. 1, 2007, and 6 percent this year. Akeena^ has gained 147 percent since early last year but has slid 20 percent this year after spiking in January.
