Envisioning an Urban Landscape

County leaders, Tysons landowners and private developers have started to reveal plans to transform Tysons Corner from suburb to city. Redevelopment boosters say the key to transforming Tysons is to do so quadrant by quadrant, creating streets, plazas and buildings, and linking each area with the Metro and the highways. Here is one section of Tysons Corner, where an architect has envisioned a street grid that would serve as a foundation for redevelopment. This and other private proposals will be subject to county approval.
