MAP: Switch to the New Span

The second span of the Wilson Bridge will open to drivers this weekend after work is done to pave and stripe connections to the bridge from the highway on both sides of the river. Switching traffic onto the new bridge requires shrinking the Capital Beltway's inner loop (I-95/I-495 south) down to a single lane and closing several ramps in Maryland and Virginia, which began last night. Work is expected to be completed by 1 p.m. tomorrow.
