Tensions Still High

Abkhazian separatist fighters forced all Georgian troops out of the Kodori Gorge. Russian forces pulled out of the town of Zugdidi but maintained a presence in Senaki. Russian troops advanced into and around Gori yesterday morning and were still in the area last night. About 100 Russian vehicles left Gori and traveled toward Tbilisi for some distance before stopping and setting up checkpoints. Georgian forces took up positions about six miles away.
