How Many People Can Fit on the Mall?

There's no way of knowing how many people will show up on the Mall for the inauguration tomorrow. But it's possible to estimate how many people can fit in the area between the Capitol, where Barack Obama will take the oath of office, and 17th Street, more than 1.5 miles away.
