This picture was taken from a satellite at 11:19 a.m., 45 minutes before the swearing-in. A senior security official said an estimated 1.8 million attended the event. We couldn't count each person, but we're pretty sure this image shows about 1 million people between the Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial, an area that doesn't include the parade route.
