Write-in ballots outnumbered the votes cast for either major-party candidate in Alaska's U.S. Senate race. The vast majority of write-ins are believed to be for Sen. Lisa Murkowski, who launched an aggressive campaign after losing the GOP primary. Officials began counting the ballots Wednesday.
