Violence at Jessup
Here are some of the most violent incidents in the Maryland House of Correction in Jessup in the past year:
* March 2006: Two corrections officers are stabbed and seriously wounded.
* May 2006: Two inmates are killed. One is found with puncture wounds and with tape wrapped loosely around his neck; the other is fatally stabbed.
* July 2006: A Sunni Muslim inmate leader is fatally stabbed July 11, allegedly by a member of a rival religious group. Later, prison guard David McGuinn is fatally stabbed. Two inmates are charged in his killing.
* March 2007: A guard is stabbed seven times in an attack that authorities said might have involved as many as three inmates. The guard survives.
