Sunday is the Nationals' season opener -- in a new stadium, no less! But unless you bought tickets weeks ago, got lucky in the team's ticket lottery or shelled out hundreds of dollars online, you aren't going.
Don't worry. The team will be there again. Eighty more times this season, in fact. When the weather warms up and the tickets free up, you can have Section 404 to yourself.
But for those who are disappointed that they can't watch history in the making, never fear. There is plenty of baseball history to be had within a reasonable drive of Washington.
Still bitter? You didn't want to fight for parking near the stadium, anyway.
So hop in your car, put on your Orioles hat (yes, we know you still own one) and head to Baltimore, the Eastern Shore or Charlottesville. If you can't leave the city, we also offer the best place to get a dressed-up hot dog and our selection of the best baseball movies to curl up with on the couch.
