RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Virginia officials are holding a series of regional mortgage clinics to help residents avoid home foreclosure.
Governor Tim Kaine said the clinics sponsored by the Virginia Foreclosure Prevention Task Force will help protect and preserve homeownership.
The clinics will provide general foreclosure prevention information and individual foreclosure counseling sessions with certified housing counselors. Clinics will last about 90 minutes, including a 30-minute general session and the free foreclosure counseling.
The state is holding the clinics next month in Richmond, Virginia Beach, Roanoke, Chantilly and Woodbridge. Officials are encouraging residents to register for the counseling sessions, but walk-ins are welcome.
