Interception returns for touchdowns by Potomac Falls DB Tarrell Owens this season. Owens returned a third-quarter interception for a score against Briar Woods last night.
EARLY RETIREMENT
Largo High School is retiring the jersey of 2003 graduate Usama Young during its game at 3 p.m. today against Surrattsville. Young, a defensive back for the New Orleans Saints, was a standout on defense and at wide receiver for the Lions before a successful career at Kent State. Last year he made a donation to his high school team that paid for new uniforms and equipment.
ON THE CUSP
With its 63-38 victory over Richard Montgomery last night, Wootton can clinch its first playoff appearance since 1991 by beating Churchill next week in a game in which the winner will earn the third seed in the Maryland 4A West Region playoffs.
