| On Sept. 9, 2006, Pentagon officials conducted public tours of the site where American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the outer ring of the Pentagon. A memorial room and chapel are located within the reconstructed outer ring of the Pentagon crash site and are dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Sept. 11 Pentagon attack. An outdoor memorial site for the 184 Pentagon victims is currently under construction just outside the Pentagon and will be open to the public when it is completed. |
