Sen. Mikulski accepts environmental service award

Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski (D-Md) spoke publicly, and light-heartedly, on Monday about the summer fall that has left her wheelchair-bound while she recovers from foot surgery. She also issued a call to action urging Democrats to continue supporting President Barack Obama. Mikulski's remarks came during her acceptance of the Maryland League of Conservation Voters' John V. Kabler Memorial Award for environmental service. (Aaron C. Davis/The Washington Post)
