Summers Says Economy Worse Off Without Tax Compromise

Dec. 9 (Bloomberg) -- White House economic adviser Lawrence Summers discusses the compromise deal on taxes between President Barack Obama and congressional Republicans. Summers, speaking with Julianna Goldman on Bloomberg Television's "In the Loop," said the accord will help remove doubt about the U.S. economic recovery, which faces more challenges because of Europe's financial turmoil. He also said the tax package will help reduce the budget deficit "in the medium term." (Source: Bloomberg) (Bloomberg)
