BURMA Burma's Supreme Court said Friday that it will allow opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi to argue against the extension of her house arrest, giving her a chance to fight the detention that would keep her locked away during elections next year.


BRUSSELS -- NATO allies welcomed President Obama's new Afghanistan strategy Friday, as Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton received pledges of 7,000 extra troops to back up the U.S. escalation.
