ESSENTIAL INFORMATION Voting Hours: Polls will be open from 7 a.m to 8 p.m. Registered voters should check their voter registration cards for their voting precincts and the address of their polling places. Those who need further help locating their polling place or who have other questions about the election should call the D.C. Board of Elections and Ethics at 202-727-2525.
Absentee Ballots:
Voters who cannot go to the polls because of physical limitations or because they will be out of town can cast an absentee ballot. Absentee ballots that are mailed to the board of elections must be postmarked on or before Nov. 5.
The period for in-person absentee voting began Oct. 21 and will continue through Tuesday. Ballots can be cast at the Voter Services Office, Room 250 North, One Judiciary Square, 441 Fourth St. NW. Office hours for absentee voting are 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Elections: The order of candidates on the D.C. ballot is chosen by lottery. It is not alphabetical or arranged by party. Candidates in this voters guide have been presented in the same order they will appear on the ballot.
