Floods Devastate Caribbean Island

A Haitian woman weeps amid rock-strewn debris in Fond Verrette, east of Port-au-Prince, following flash-floods throughout the tropical region. Rescue workers have been digging through mud and debris looking for bodies after the rains sent rivers of mud and swirling waters through Hispaniola, the Caribbean island shared by Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
