The Prince George's Animal Shelter, 8311 D'Arcy Rd., Forestville, makes pets available for adoption by residents of Prince George's County and other jurisdictions. The shelter has viewing and adoption hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays. This semiannual student exhibition exposes new talent to the gallery art scene. MARC runs three lines: the Brunswick Line, the Camden Line and the Penn Line. The Brunswick Line runs between Union Station and Martinsburg, W.Va.; the Camden Line runs between Camden Station in downtown Baltimore and Union Station in Washington; and the Penn Line runs between Union Station and Perryville, Md. MARC trains run weekdays with service varying from 4:30 a.m. until midnight.

HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle), or carpool, lanes are reserved for carpools, vanpools, buses and motorcycles during weekday morning and evening rush hours. They are designated either HOV-2 (two or more passengers required) or HOV-3 (three or more passengers required), which means there must be at least that many people in a vehicle during the posted carpool lane hours. Virginia allows solo drivers of hybrid vehicles in carpool lanes, but Maryland does not.

The Dulles Toll Road (Route 267), owned and operated by the Virginia Department of Transportation, is an eight-lane, 14-mile highway between the Capital Beltway (Interstate 495) and the Dulles Greenway's main toll plaza near Route 28.
