FBR Nears Settlement With SEC Friedman, Billings, Ramsey Group Inc.'s brokerage subsidiary is close to settling a Securities and Exchange Commission investigation into a 2001 investment banking transaction, a source with knowledge of the matter said yesterday.
FBI to Fire Dissident Agent The FBI has moved to fire a veteran agent who alleged that the bureau had mishandled domestic investigations of the Islamic Resistance Movement, also known as Hamas, the Palestinian group designated a terrorist organization by the U.S. government.
