ATLANTA Cable News Network, which dismissed nearly 400 workers in January following the merger of its parent company Time Warner Inc. with America Online Inc., laid off about 20 Internet employees Wednesday.
"Over the past several months, CNN has been looking at ways to further integrate our television and Web properties," CNN spokesman Matthew Furman said. "We found approximately 20 positions in our interactive division that reflected redundancies in areas of responsibility."
There have been reports that more job cuts may still be coming, but Furman would not confirm that.
"There are no immediate plans to eliminate any more positions," he said. "With that said, CNN will continue to review its operations with an eye toward improving efficiency."
