As soon as they received Alexander's suggestions, Harris and her husband tried a paint sample on one wall. They were skeptical, worrying that the color would be too bright or too dark or just too much. But they decided to take a chance. The final verdict: "It fits the room perfectly," Harris said.
Harris and her husband bought the Ikea chairs and Pottery Barn items, improvising just a bit by using their own pharmacy lights for the sitting area and subbing in new side tables and pillows because Alexander's selections were no longer available. The only other deviation was for Coy Harris: He wasn't too keen on having silk peonies on his nightstand. They found a home on a reading table instead.
