Good Night, And Good Luck

You don't have to remember Fred Friendly or Edward R. Murrow to party like you do. Get recipes for a Manhattan, oldie-but-goodie hors d'oeuvres, such as pigs-in-blankets, and scare up some old ash trays to sprinkle around the room (no smoke necessary). Channel Friendly with a pair of big horn-rimmed glasses. For Murrow, wear suspenders and a crisp, white pocket square in your suit jacket; then substitute a dab of hair gel for Brylcreem. Patricia Clarkson's quintessential '50s look isn't hard to duplicate, especially if you look to spring fashions making their way to stores now in the form of flouncy dresses topped by cropped jackets that play up the hourglass-shape figure.
