For our 11th annual Photo Contest
, more than 1,600 of you (including a good number from Hungary, for some reason) sent in images that show not only where you've been, but how you see the world. We whittled down the pile and then enlisted National Geographic Traveler photo editor Carol Enquist to help us pick our 10 favorites: four prize-winners and six honorable mentions.
Each has something special, whether it's the concept, the composition, a sense of humor or a spectacular use of light. Coincidentally, two of the top four were taken by photographers from Budapest named Zoltan. We chalk that up to the wonderful serendipity of travel. *Gallery: 11th Annual Photo Contest* More Travel photo stories:Photoshop tools to give your pictures that professional look A photo safari in Baltimore sets up the shot
